GALVESTON, TX - Between the morning hours of 8am-noon Monday, the home of two Deputies was burglarized.
Although it was odd that only electronics and men's items were taken those were not the most valuable of things missing. The couple has been holding benefits for their 27 year old sister who is a cancer survivor (both brain and cervical) and had been diagnosed with Spine Metastases.
Having twenty tumors in her body requires a $200 weekly visit to chemotherapy and $300 a month in prescriptions. The money made at the September and March benefits ranging from $3,500-$3,700 was among the propery stolen.
While the material objects can be replaced, what was really stolen was the generosity of others. The couple has made it clear that they are more devastated over the loss of the benefit money than anything else stating "The hard work and sacrifices from others cannot be replaced."
