I think John is a class act and would make a great sheriff. I wish he would be running as a Republican. He may still get my vote anyway.

The thing about Pruitt and everyone in law enforcement agrees. He's got really high standards, smarter than the most but has no patience with others if they can't keep up. He's also the only other besides Kinard who could get snatched up by another dept. If he doesn't win. This is what separates him definitely from Trochesset and Campbell in the sense of being really accomplished at a skill that every cop would like to be good at.

I'm fed-up with this trying to decide if a candidate would be good because of one label, democrat or republican. While some of one or the other party in the past would have been a better choice for a given office, America chooses a party to win and not the better candidate. That's where we fail in expectations. I'm not liberal and do typically vote republican but there is such a thing as a conservative democrat that could be the best choice. America should understand, you should vote for the person that's best for doing the job and not just worry about what party they come from within reason.
I don’t know John but maybe he could be the best choice based on previous comment. It’s just something to think about.

Capt. Pruitt is not running as a Republician because he's to honest of a person, he has always been a democrat and he's not going to start out his campaign lying to us .. unlike some others!! He's a finr respectable man.. I'm sure the next Sheriff (if not John) will keep Capt Pruitt on his command staff.

My vote will be cast for the person who I believed can best serve the citizens of Galveston County. Voting for party affiliation is not the issue of concern in a local election. The vote should be for the person who is most qualified and a proven effective leader. That person is Captain John Pruitt! He is a second generation Galveston County Sherriff officer following in his father’s footsteps. John Pruitt goals are simple --strive for excellence and be proud of your work. John has been involved in many high profile cases with success in putting those individuals behind bars. John has been the voice of the victim or the less fortunate. John is the right person for the job. Put down your party affiliation and vote for the right person---Captain John Pruitt.

Capt. John Pruitt is a good man. He's an excellent cop and an outstanding advocate for doing, not what's popular, but what's right. What makes him stand head and shoulders above the rest is that he is not a professional politician...but he is a professional. His plans for the future of Galveston County and for the Sheriff's Office involve accountability, community involvement, innovation of services and better care of Sheriff's Office employees by the Sheriff's Office itself. This is a man who can call fellow deputies by name and actually knows something about them personally...in an agency that large, that's saying something. The only people I know who don't like him are full of it and he probably told them that to their face..I respect that in any person but to see it in a person of Capt. Pruitt's caliber is inspiring. He has my support 100%.

Amen Kay. I met Capt Pruitt through his mother and she like I are hispanic. Capt Pruitt is not a politician but a leader and is very passionate about his commitment to the Sheriff's Office. I don't care what party he is running but I ask the hispanics to get out and vote for this man. He is committed to everyone in this county. He speaks from the heart and I respect and support his endeavor to seek the office of Sheriff.
