Raul De Leon

10/16/1979

Shortly after midnight, Sunday morning August 6th, 2017 La Porte Police Department (LPPD) Patrol Officers were dispatched to 2040 Sens Road, La Porte Texas for a report of gunshots being fired in the area. When officers arrived they found the victim laying in the road with two apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was quickly transported to the Hospital by La Porte Emergency Medical Services for the treatment of his injuries. The suspect had left the scene, only to be captured a short time later by LPPD Patrol Officers.

The suspect, Raul De Leon of La Porte, Texas shot his step-son in law during an argument. He then fled the scene and was captured by La Porte Police a short distance from the assault location, where he was arrested for suspicion of aggravated assault with a firearm.

LPPD contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, who accepted the charge of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. De Leon failed to post his $40,000 bond and was transferred by LPPD to the Harris County Jail.
