FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 12, 2017

Richmond, Texas

Fort Bend County is the most diverse county in the country according to demographic studies by Rice University. As the county’s numbers continue to grow, Sheriff Troy Nehls would like to help law enforcement and residents of Fort Bend County feel comfortable and become knowledgeable about prominent cultures besides their own.

Sheriff Troy Nehls will be hosting and moderating Diversity and Living Together: an Awareness Session from Various Cultural and Religious Groups.

This four-hour event is scheduled for Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Patton Hall, located in the Gus George Law Enforcement Academy. The Academy is located at 1521 Eugene Heimann Circle in Richmond (adjacent to the Fort Bend County Courthouse).

This cultural awareness session will begin at 3 p.m. and conclude at 7 p.m. There will be three groups presenting and taking questions: Sheiks, Hindus and Muslims. After all three groups conclude, there will be a fellowship hour with refreshments.

This event is open to the public, but due to limited space, only the first 100 that register can attend. Please click on the link to register: http://gglea.fortbendcountytx.gov/p-8086-ddlt.aspx
