Richmond police responded to a Robbery in Progress at The Loan Depot, located in a strip center in the 1300 block of FM 2218.  When officers arrived to investigate, the suspect had already left the area.  Two employees working at the business stated that the subject walked in the front door a few minutes before closing time at 7:00 PM.  As the suspect entered the business, he immediately told the two female employees to get on the ground.  He kept his hand in his pocket during the robbery, so the employees did not know if he had a weapon; He never showed a weapon during the robbery.  The suspect forced one of the employees to open the safe.  He grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the safe and ran out the back door of the business where a witness observed him getting into the passenger side an off white or tan colored Nissan Pathfinder, possibly a 2000 model.  The suspect, described as an African American male, approximately 5'5" to 5'8" tall, 145 to 165 pounds, thin build, dark complexion, was wearing a black "hoodie," faded blue jeans, and black sneakers,  He also wore a black ski mask over his face, concealing his nose and mouth.  The Pathfinder was being driven by another African American male, no further description was given.  There were no injuries reported from the robbery.  No video was available at the time of the release.
