KAUFMAN - As police searched Thursday for the brazen killers of Kaufman County prosecutor Mark Hasse, his former boss made them a bold promise.

"I hope that the people that did this are watching," Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland said during a televised news conference. "Because we're confident we're going to find you, pull you out of whatever hole you're in, bring you back and let the people of Kaufman County prosecute you to the full extent of the law."
