A man hiding from police seeking him on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon was captured Monday night in a trailer house at the dead end of Avenue J in Santa Fe.

James Christopher Lee, 43, was being sought by League City Police for an assault on a woman believed to be his girlfriend.  According to reports, Lee pistol whipped the woman the League City home they were sharing on Sherwood Forrest Circle.  Following the assault, on Christmas day, he drove her to an ATM machine where he forced her to withdraw money for him.

Lee reportedly continued threatening her even while in hiding by sending her text messages and a picture of a gun.

Formerly of Dickinson, Lee has a history with police beginning in 1988 with a burglary arrest by Santa Fe Police and including charges of Criminal Tresspass and DWI.

Lee's hiding place was discovered Monday by Precinct 8 Constable Deputy Ross McCammon.  He, State Trooper Adrian Garza and Santa Fe Police arrested him without incident. The pistol used in the beating was recovered from the house.

Lee is being held in the Galveston County Jail in lieu of $40,000 bail.
