HOUSTON -- A woman was found dead inside her still running SUV last night in southwest Houston.
More: Got a story idea? Let us know!It happened on the 5400 block of Birdwood and Renwick around 11pm. Residents tell police they believe two or three shots were fired. Neighbors also say they saw a black Tahoe leaving the scene.
When police arrived, they found the body of Caucasian woman, in her 40s, in the driver's seat of an SUV.
"The vehicle appears to have backed up in an attempt to escape and ended up in a grassy area against this fence," said Matthew Brady with the Houston Police Department homicide division.
The exact motive is still unclear, although police say the woman was involved in a verbal argument before the shooting.
Police believe the victim may be from the Cypress area. They don't have any suspects at this time.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward and call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
