Alert: rash of vehicle burglaries in Houston Heights and Woodland Heights
 
The Precinct One Constable’s Office would like to alert residents living in the Houston Heights and Woodland Heights neighborhoods to a rash of vehicle burglaries reported from June 28July 1 2018.  
 
In that time period authorities received 11 calls from vehicle owners. All 11 calls appear to have occurred in the evening or overnight within neighborhoods served by Precinct One. In the majority of cases the vehicles were parked along the curb on the street. None were reported in private drives. In each case the thief or thieves broke a window to gain access to the vehicle, before stealing items from inside.
 
 
The vehicle burglaries occurred at these general locations:
 
300 blk. 11th St. 200 blk. West 19th St. 400 blk. West 22nd St. 900 blk. 23rd St. 300 blk. West 22nd St. 400 blk. Highland St. 900 blk. Aurora 500 blk West 25th St. 1200 blk. West 15th St. 500 blk. Yale St. 1100 blk. West 25th St.
 
Deputies believe additional vehicle burglaries may also be tied to the same suspect or suspects.
