Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal crash that occurred at 1200 Crosstimbers at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday (April 21).

The suspect, Lakendra Nicholson (b/f, 35), is charged with intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault in the 178th State District Court.

A booking photo of Nicholson is attached to this news release.

The male victim, 2, was transported to Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer A. Hart reported:

Nicholson was driving erratically in her white Cadillac CTS eastbound on Crosstimbers, changed lanes in an unsafe manner and struck a grey Nissan Altima.  The Cadillac then struck a black Pontiac, pushing it into a utility pole and a gold Toyota Camry.  The Toyota then struck a white commercial pickup truck.  The driver of the pickup truck pulled into a nearby parking lot and then left the scene.  All occupants of the Nissan, the Pontiac and the Toyota were transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

Nicholson was detained at the scene, determined to be intoxicated and subsequently charged.
