Harris County Deputy Jailed On Misdemeanor Charge

HOUSTON, TX — A Harris County Sheriff's deputy was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly violated a protective order.

Deputy James Christopher Sam was booked into the Harris County Jail on a class B misdemeanor.

The 17-year law enforcement veteran was relieved of his peace officer duties and placed in a civilian status, officials said in a press release.

The case remains under investigation.
