WALLISVILLE, TEXAS – Mayes Middleton, a conservative Republican businessman, calls for all Texas House candidates to support the Republican Caucus rules that end excessive Democrat control in the Texas House.

Middleton said in a statement: “Despite Texas being dominated by conservatives and having nearly a supermajority of Republicans in the Texas House, Democrats have banded together with a handful of liberal Republicans to back the Texas House Speaker. Over the last decade, the Texas House Speaker and his leadership team have fought conservatives, including attacking Governor Abbott and blocking Abbott's agenda. Unfortunately, during his tenure, my opponent Wayne Faircloth fought to protect a Democrat-backed Speaker of the House, which helped kill conservative legislation such as property tax relief.

I am calling on all conservatives to join me in demanding that Wayne sign the pledge to end the practice of Democrat control in selecting the next Speaker. Only the Republican majority should pick the Speaker of the House. Why has Wayne Faircloth refused to sign the pledge to end Democrat control of the Texas House and help us have a conservative Speaker?”

Mayes Middleton, along with his wife, Macy, and three sons, Connor, Christian, and Matthew, live in Wallisville. Mayes is a successful small businessman in the oil and gas industry, as well as the ranching and farming business. For more information please visit www.mayesmiddleton.com.
