Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 2511 Stevens

The fatal shooting of a man at 2511 Stevens about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday (September 17) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The victim, Juan Capetillo, 40, of Houston, was pronounced deceased at Ben Taub General Hospital.

The female shooter, 34, was not injured in the incident.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Villareal and W. Huff reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Mr. Capetillo lying on the living room floor with a gunshot wound to the chest.  He was then transported by HFD paramedics to the hospital.  Capetillo's girlfriend was detained at the scene.

Further investigation determined Capetillo and his girlfriend had gotten into an argument prior to the shooting.
