On 08/11/2017 at 19:24 hours, Galveston Police began to receive multiple calls to 911 with reports of a shooting that occurred within the 4900 Block of Ave J.

Responding Officers arrived on scene and were advised by several witnesses that the two involved vehicles described as a white in color small car and a green in color 4 door car had fled the scene. Witnesses on scene advised Galveston Police Officers that a minor accident had occurred and both vehicles pulled over to the side of the road in the 4900 Block of Ave J.

The unidentified male white driver exited a green in color four door vehicle and was assaulted by two juvenile passengers from the small white in color vehicle. Witnesses advised the unidentified male white driver went back and retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and began to fire several shots into the windshield of the white car, striking the two male juveniles.

The unidentified male suspect then got into his vehicle and fled the scene. The suspect vehicle was followed by witnesses who lost sight of the suspect vehicle around the 4500 block of Ave U. The female driver of the small white vehicle transported the two injured juveniles to UTMB for treatment for gunshot wounds. One Juvenile is listed in critical condition and the other in stable condition.

The suspect is yet to be positively identified and currently at large. The suspect vehicle is described as a green in color four door vehicle, with possible out of state license plates. The investigation is currently active.
