The 100 Club, a 60 year old Houston based non-profit organization,that supports the dependents of Firefighters and Law Enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, today announces its assistance for the family of Bryan Fire Lt. Eric Wallace, 36, who died in the line of dutywhile fighting a fire, in Bryan, on Friday evening, February 15, 2013. Three other Bryan Firefighters were critically injured while fighting the fire.

Lt. Wallace was a 12 year veteran with the Bryan Fire Department andis survived by his wife and 5 children. He was honored as a 100 Club Firefighter of the Year in 2010 for his off duty actions while rescuing a citizen from a burning home and saving the man's life.

A $20,000 check will be presented to Mrs. Wallace to help with the family's immediate monetary needs with additional financial support for the Wallace family to be made after assessments of the family's needs are made. On average, the 100 Club's financial support is approximately $300,000 per tragedy.

Donations are being accepted to "The 100 Club Survivors Fund", which provides benefits to the dependents of Firefighters and Law Enforcement Officers who lose their life in the line of duty.

100% of "Survivors Fund" donations go to the families of firefighters and law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

The 100 Club began in 1953 when a handful of citizens banded together to provide financial support to the dependents of Houston Police Officers killed in the line of duty. Today, the 100 Club's29,870 members, located in Austin, Brazoria, Brazos, BurlesonChambers, Colorado, Fayette, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Liberty, Madison, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller and Washington counties, continue to band together for the purpose of aiding dependents of Firefighters and Law Enforcement and responding to their needs.
