GALVESTON - Thursday Galveston police were dispatched to 5216 Ave P to investigate a disturbance. The victim, Melody Massey, was met outside the residence and told officers her husband, Jerry Massey, 26, had choked her. She said she ran out of the house to call the police when her husband finally let go of her.
 
Officers were given permission to enter the residence and speak with him and found him to be under the influence of alcohol.

The wife had visible injuries that were photographed for evidence.
 
Jerry Massey was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury and jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.
