CORPUS CHRISTI - Corpus Christi police used an electronic control device (ECD) to get a man out of a recycling bin after he tried to hide from officers Monday.
Officers responded for a man sleeping on the sidewalk in the 5900 block of Norvel Drive at 8:35 a.m. When the officer attempted to wake the man, he grabbed a bag, pushed the officer and ran behind a house. The officers said he found the man hiding in a recycling bin, but the man refused to get out.
Police said the man had a warrant for his arrest related to a previous possession of a controlled substance conviction and he was also charged with suspicion of resisting arrest. Nueces County Jail officials said the man, who has nine convictions in Nueces County since 2006, was not in the jail as of Monday afternoon.
