Crime Stoppers and investigators with the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division will host a press conference today to address the 2012 murder of Houston grandmother Norma Jean Scott.

Norma Jean Scott disappeared on or about the 29th or 30th of August in 2012.  Members of the 48 year old grandmother's family, and a volunteer search and recovery team, searched Scott's Fifth Ward Neighborhood, until her body was found on September 3, 2012.  Investigators from the Houston Police Department responded to the 3700 block of Deschaumes, where a crime scene was established, and an investigation initiated.  The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences later confirmed the body belonged to Scott following an autopsy.

After months of continued investigation, investigators are left with no leads in the murder of Ms. Scott.

Officers from the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division and members of the victim's family will be in attendance at today's Crime Stoppers press conference.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at (713) 222-TIPS (8477).

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information called in to the 713-222-TIPS (8477) or submitted online at www.crime-stoppers.org  that leads to the filing of felony charges or arrest of the suspect in this case.  Tips can also be sent by text message. Text TIP610 plus your tip to CRIMES (274637).  All tipsters remain anonymous.
