Charged with Armed Robbery, Weapons

Jan. 10, 2013

Austin, TX - Scotty Antoine, 24, of New Iberia, Louisiana was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force this afternoon without incident in the 1200 block of Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, Texas. Antoine recently arrived to the Austin shortly after the first of the year after New Iberia authorities charged Antoine with 1st Degree Robbery.

According to officials with the New Iberia, LA., Parish Sheriff's Office, Antoine robbed two individuals at gunpoint at a local public park in Iberia Parish, taking two weapons in the process. Authorities located a vehicle Antoine was seen leaving in and a subsequent search warrant yielded the alleged firearm Antoine used in the commission of the robbery. The two weapons previously stolen were not recovered. The Louisiana based taskforce determined through local investigation that Antoine fled to the Austin area around shortly after the New Year.

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force initiated surveillance on several associates Antoine was known to have in the Austin/Round Rock area. Task force officers were able to determine the make and model of a vehicle that Antoine was purported to be driving. The vehicle was located in Round Rock and officers conducted surveillance until they were able to confirm Antoine's identity and effect his arrest.

No weapons were recovered at the residence and Antoine was remanded to the custody of the Williamson County Detention Center pending his extradition to New Iberia Parrish, LA.

Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas states, "The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force will continue to focus our investigative efforts at rooting out the worst of the worst offenders."
