GALVESTON - Four persons escaped serious injuries Thursday afternoon in a crash on FM-3005 that sent three cars spinning and one coming to rest near a tractor working on the roadside.
The driver of one of the cars, Lisa Peters of Sea Isle, said she was driving west in front of the Galveston Island State Park when an eastbound car made a u-turn through the highway
crossover. After her car crashed into it her car went into a spin and was hit by an SUV that had been following behind her.
The woman driving the SUV was treated at the scene for facial cuts and other injuries by EMS and Fire Dept. personnel and taken to John Sealy Hospital. Her injuries were not believed to be
life threatening.
Peters and her pre-teen daughter were not injured nor was the man who was making the u-turn.
Galveston police officer Carl Lomax was investigating the crash assisted by Jamaica Beach police officers.
