AUSTIN -- The Texas Attorney General’s Fugitive Unit on Thursday participated in a coordinated law enforcement effort with local and federal law enforcement authorities that led to the arrest of Rex Allen Nisbett of Williamson County in connection with his estranged wife Vicki’s 1991 disappearance.

After arresting Nisbett in Houston, law enforcement officers transported him to the Williamson County Jail. The defendant is currently being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.

Law enforcement agencies participating in today’s arrest included:
• Williamson County Sheriff’s Office
• Williamson County District Attorney’s Office
• Office of the Attorney General’s Fugitive Unit
• U.S. Marshals Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force

The arrest stemmed from a lengthy investigation into the disappearance of Vicki Nisbett, who was last seen on Dec. 14, 1991 at her Williamson County residence in the Anderson Mill area. Her husband reported her missing two days later.

Earlier this year, the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office reopened the 22-year-old case for continued investigation – which led to a felony indictment for murder against Rex Nisbett and a warrant for his arrest.

Williamson County law enforcement authorities continue to investigate aspects of the case. Anyone with information about this case or Rex and Vicki Nisbett should immediately contact one of the following law enforcement authorities:
• Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Detective Robert Kee at (512) 943-1300
