ROCKPORT - A 10-year veteran of the Rockport Police Department has been indicted by an Aransas County grand jury for retaliation and misuse of official information.

Nov. 29 a woman complained to the city of Rockport, pf harassment by officer Michael Frye. The complaint cited domestic problems and included charges of harassment, stalking and misuse of official information.

The department's internal affairs division launched a criminal investigation. Frye was put on paid administrative leave Nov. 30.

Dec. 1st, a warrant was issued for Frye for retaliation. He was arrested by Rockport police and bailed out of jail the same day.

The case was presented Friday to the 36th Judicial District Attorney's Office for review. Tuesday, it was presented to the Aransas County grand jury, and indictments were returned for retaliation and misuse of official information, both third-degree felonies.

Frye submitted a letter of resignation effective Monday.
