WEBSTER, TX - A team of area lawmen burst into a Webster apartment Tuesday night to arrest a 19-year old man wanted in the Aggravated Robbery of a Galveston convenience store in which the store clerk with hit with a pistol.
On April 25, three black men were caught on the store camera robbing the Merco convenience store on 45th St. Heads covered with bath towels they ran through the store in less than a minute then fled with about $3,000.
One of the robbers was later identified as Richard Epps, Jr. of Crockett, Texas, and a warrant was issued for his arrest charging him with Aggravated Robbery.
Officers received a tip Epps was hold up in an apartment in the 600 block of Medical Center Blvd. in Webster.
Accompanied by a K-9 officer from the Friendswood Police Department, Webster officers and a Galveston County Constable's Deputy from League City made a forcible entry into the apartment.
Epps fled out the back door pursued by the canine which quickly took him to the ground. Epps was bitten resisting the canine and was treated by EMT's at the scene.
Epps was taken to the Friendswood Police Department where he was later picked up by a Galveston Police Officer and taken to the Galveston County Jail where he is being held in lieu of $60,000 bail.
The other robbers are still at large.
