Sponsorship Opportunities Available for La Porte’s New Animal Adoption Center

The October 28th, 2013 groundbreaking for the City of La Porte’s new Animal Adoption Center and Shelter was a welcomed event for area community members. The new facility, currently under new construction at 10901 Spencer Highway was relocated from its former 4th street location and expanded to over 4300 square feet in size, replacing the original 1900 square foot animal shelter that was constructed in 1987.

The Adoption Center will have an improved playground for dogs to interact and rest, as well an expansive cat condo where resident cats can play and be openly viewed by visitors considering cat adoption. Such a place will provide the perfect atmosphere for recovery and rehabilitation, as many of the animals make the transition from lives of hardship to being cherished members of a loving family. All of this, while promoting each animal’s physical, psychological, and social wellbeing.  In short, the enriched Adoption Center has been specifically designed to supply a nurturing temporary home for lost, abandoned, or abused animals, while providing a highly visible location and inviting environment that will attract a higher number of prospective pet adopters.

To this end, the City of La Porte is inviting local residents, businesses, and industry members to become a living part of the new La Porte Animal Adoption Center by serving as an official donor or sponsor.  Available sponsorship opportunities include providing funds to supply Outdoor Benches, Cat Condos, Dog Adoption Kennels, Landscaping, an Adoption “get acquainted” Room, Large Glass Lobby Cat Colony, or Video Signage on Spencer Hwy., which will display daily photos of animals available for adoption.  Individual donations will be accepted at any amount and official sponsorships begin at as little as $250.  All sponsors will be recognized through the placement of permanent plaques or other signage, appropriately identifying contributors throughout the Center’s walkways, outside individual dog and cat adoption cages, inside and outside play areas, or on each side of the new electronic display sign bordering Spencer Highway.

While tax status differs significantly from individual to individual, and it is always a good idea to consult with a tax professional, all donors will be provided with a receipt that may be used for charitable tax deduction purposes.  Those interested in making a contribution and/or obtaining more information relating to the Animal Adoption Center should contact the La Porte Animal Control Supervisor, Clarence Anderson, at 281-471-3700.

The new facility’s focus is strongly on animal adoption and placement and, thanks to continued support from the members of City Council, the City of La Porte hopes to be able to increase the animal adoption rate further and provide better homes for our animals.
