Last Saturday, League City police were called to the home on Driftwood that 32-year-old Katrina Gonzales shared with her boyfriend, Felipe Alberto Fernandez, 48. Gonzales was dead, beaten with a hammer. He, police say, was incoherent. Her family fears it's an act setting up his defense.

League City police have not released a motive. Fernandez remains in the Galveston County Jail charged with murder.
Upon booking into jail it was discovered there were arrest warrants outstanding for him by the City of Galveston Municipal Court totaling $1,658.28.

Meanwhile, the family has set up a fund for anyone wishing to help Gonzales' two daughters, who are aged 11 and 5.
