A Burnet man and woman have been indicted by a Burnet County grand jury on charges related to the heroin overdose death of an 18-year-old Burnet High School girl in 2012.

Kyley Denton Wills, 23, and Paige Amanda Moffett, 24, were each indicted for Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
The indictments against the pair, who lived at a residence on Sheppard Street, said they delivered heroin to Darlene Jackson on the night of Oct. 26, 2012 and that Jackson died as a result of injecting or ingesting it into her body.

Jackson was unresponsive when her brother checked on her at about 11 a.m. the following morning, a Saturday, Burnet Police Chief Paul Nelson said at the time of the investigation into her death.

Jackson was a senior at Burnet High School when she died.

Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance is a State Jail Felony and enhanced to a Third Degree Felony when a death or serious bodily injury results.

The Third Degree Felony punishment range is two to 10 years in prison and up to $10,000 fine.
