DIBOLL, Texas - The two fugitives from Diboll, Texas arrested by Santa Police earlier this week, had apparently directed their crimes toward coin operated machines in laundrymats and carwashes.

Detective Rodney Cheshire of the Diboll Police Department told The Police News Friday, that on May 7 three persons were in the R & R Washateria in Diboll for 30-45 minutes just "loitering and meandering around", apparently waiting for a lady in there to leave.

After the lady left, two of them began casing out the machines while Gladdin Louis Presley spray painted two security cameras.  Apparently he didn't know they had already been recorded.

Cheshire says they then broke into the coin machines getting away with about $80 in cash and causing about $1300 damages to the machines before they fled.

The detective said he did not recognize any of the three as being locals.

Diboll Police listed the crime, with the videos, on the area Crime Stoppers website which is operated by the Lufkin Police Department and on the Texas Department of Public Safety's List-Serve which distributes the information to all law enforcement agencies in the area.

Soon, Crime Stoppers got a tip on the name of  Presely and that led to the Friendswood Police Department where they had been arrested on May 11 after breaking into a coin machine in a carwash and the arresting officer found burglary tools in their car. All three, Presely, Lisa Rachelle Evans and 18-year old Tanner Weeks, were arrested and charged with Engaging in Organizaed Criminal Activity.

Friendswood Police sent Diboll Police a video of the carwash incident and Cheshire recognized them immediately. Cheshire said what really 'stuck out' in the video was Presley wearing a Texas Longhorn cap in both the Friendswood and Diboll videos.
By the time Detective Cheshire got the three identified and warrants issued, Presley and Evans had made bond and were released from the Harris County Jail. Weeks could not make bond and was transferred to the Angelina County Jail where he is still being held.

Apparently Presley and Evan went from Friendswood to Santa Fe where they were arrested on the warrants from Diboll and are now being held without bond in the Galveston County Jail.

Cheshire said oficers from Diboll will be in Galveston Tuesday to take custody of Presley and Evans and return them to Diboll for trial.
