HARRIS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
PRESS RELEASE

September 30, 2013

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has charged three brothers after they led deputies on a 50- mile pursuit that started in east Harris County and ended in southern Montgomery County.

Sunday, September 29, 2013, deputies were responding to call for service about a man discharging a shotgun from a silver-colored late model Cadillac. While searching the area deputies spotted the vehicle in a parking lot at First Street and Market Street in Baytown, Texas. Two HCSO marked patrol units pulled behind the vehicle. As deputy J. Ricamore, a seven- year veteran, approached the driver’s side door, he ordered the driver to exit the vehicle.

The driver then put the vehicle in reverse at a high rate of speed. The front of the vehicle struck deputy J .Ricamore in the upper leg.

Deputy Ricamore in fear of being run over discharged his weapon at the vehicle, striking it three times. The Cadillac then fled from the parking lot with deputies in chase.

The suspects fled north to Interstate 10 east, then west towards the 610 Loop. Deputies observed the suspects throwing drugs from the vehicle. The suspects then drove north on to US 59. As the chase entered Montgomery County, near Kingwood, Texas, the Houston Police Department assisted in trying to stop the suspects.

Deputies deployed spike strips. The suspects tried to drive around one strip and lost control of their vehicle crashing into the feeder road. The suspects fled from the vehicle into a nearby wooded area. A perimeter was set up and HCSO K9 along with HPD K9 started tracking the suspects. All three suspects were taken into custody after an exhaustive search of the thick brush and wooded area. A shotgun was found in the vehicle.

Deputy Ricamore was released by EMS at the scene.
