Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 2100 Russell Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 2100 Russell Street about 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday (June 4).  

The victim, Jaylon Townsel, 18, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.  

HPD Homicide Division Officers R. Ridel and N. Rosenblatt reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Mr. Townsel deceased in the back seat of a 2006 Dodge Charger.  Investigators believe Townsel was shot at another location and then driven to the Russell address.  

HPD homicide investigators have detained a male, 17, for questioning.  However, no charges have been filed at this time.
