WEBSTER, TX - A team of area lawmen burst into a Webster apartment Tuesday night to arrest a 19-year old man wanted in the Aggravated Robbery of a Galveston convenience store in which the store clerk with hit with a pistol.

On April 25, three black men were caught on the store camera robbing the Merco convenience store on 45th St. Heads covered with bath towels they ran through the store in less than a minute then fled with about $3,000.

One of the robbers was later identified as Richard Epps, Jr. of Crockett, Texas, and a warrant was issued for his arrest charging him with Aggravated Robbery.

I searched Richard Epps Crocket, TX on Facebook and found Richard Epps, Jr. I hope authorities will search Facebook to find potential friends that may be involved since there are 3 remaining suspects.

I called 409-765-3702 for the Galveston Police Department. He sounded uninterested and referred me to Crime Stoppers. He even gave me the number. However, they are not answering the phone at 7:45PM tonight. I was on hold and finally hung up.

You have to call 713-222-TIPS, (Harris Co. Crime Stoppers) Galveston County crime STOPPERS IS A joke!

Galeston Crime Stoppers has lost its certification from Texas Crime Stoppers. I certainly hope they are not still sucking donations out of businesses or individuals. The DA should investigate this group. A lawyer and a CPA have controlled it for years without any outside overview.

If you want to help and you think you have pertinent information, I am know they will help you. If you are asking them if they have checked out social media - you can bet your A!! that they have. I personally don't think that if you have a LEGITIMATE complaint that you will be ignored.

I am totally confused now. The original story states the name of the thug as "Richard Epps, Jr." from Crockett, TX.

The Galveston P2C (Peer to Citizen) Inmate Inquiry website lists his name as "Kenneth Earl Epps".

Am I missing something here? Does he have 2 names? Maybe he also uses the name of his child, who I thought was a girl at first until I came across this new development with him listed under a different name on the Galveston P2C.

Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS did answer the phone today and took the tip. That is the same number GPD at 409-765-3702 referred me to call yesterday.

I had a feeling they were already on top of it because they said they would forward the tip and asked "Is there anything else you know?".

Lets hope this misunderstanding is cleared up, so that these youngsters can return home an get on with their lives. What evidence does Galveston PD have that identifies this handsome young man as the perpetrator?
