SAN ANTONIO — The man wanted in the beating death of a man left lying in a Corpus Christi parking lot was arrested Wednesday in San Antonio.

Details on where Texas Rangers found Jose Alfredo Saldana, 25, weren't available but just after 3 p.m. he had been charged with one count of murder and his bail set at $300,000.

Saldana is charged with killing Alonzo Salinas, 52, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department.

Police said Salinas had been assaulted and left in a parking lot in the 2700 block of S. Port Avenue.

Salinas died on Sunday at the hospital, police said. After that, detectives got a murder warrant for for Saldana's arrest.

Saldana was taken from San Antonio to Corpus Christi Wednesday.
