FANNETT, Texas -- A spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Thursday identified a man arrested in Wednesday's shooting death on Boondocks Road.
 
Deputy Rod Carroll says he is Matthew Earl Smith, 35, of Hamshire, Texas.  Smith is Charged with murder.  His bond is set at $1,000,000.
 
Wednesday, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office received a call of a shooting in the 15000 block of Boondocks Road in Fannett.  The caller said he was flagged down by a passser-by who said he had just been involved in a shooting.  The pedestrian stayed with the caller until deputies arrived.

The deputies found a body at a nearby home.  Investigators identified the victim as Cole Dupuy, 51, of Fannett.
