Galveston County Sheriff's Office
PRESS RELEASE

Galveston County Sheriff’s Special Crimes detectives arrested a Texas City residence this afternoon in connection with an ongoing investigation into illegal drug sales.

Continuing probes into narcotics activity led detectives to identify a location where they believed illicit drugs were being manufactured and sold.  As a result of the Special Crimes Unit and the Texas City Police Department’s investigative efforts, a search warrant issued by 10th Judicial District Court Judge Kerry Neves was served shortly after 11:00 AM today at a apartment complex in the 2100 block of Texas Ave. in Texas City.

Sheriff’s detectives seized about 6.6 grams of cocaine and packaging items typically used in the sale of illegal narcotics and seized $731.00 believed to be proceeds from her sales.

Misty Dawn Sharp, 26 was arrested during the search warrant, remains incarcerated at the Galveston County Jail under an $80,000 bond.  Sharp was charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a first-degree felony.

I bet this has been a long time coming with the expertise and careful planning of the drug unit.

Too bad the commissioner's court doesn't see the importance of the county having this and want to cut it. This is coming from a very concerned citizen who was told by the commissioners that this was going to happen.

Nice - uh? Elected officials not concerned about public safety like bad drug dealers.

Commissioners Court cannon disban anything. They set the budge for the Sheriff and the Sheriff determines where he wants to spent the money. The Sheriff disbans the Narcotics Unit if he don't want to spend the money to support it. Put the blame where it belongs.

Zeke....

okay - I blame the Sheriff for allowing the commissioners to tell him how to run his office.

Glad this came around back to who is really responsible. Thanks for leading us there!
