HARRIS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
PRESS RELEASE

October 21, 2013

On Sunday, October 20, 2013, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and Baytown Police Department took into custody 37 year-old Michelle Fiala , who led law enforcement on a 15 mile chase that began at Interstate 10 West and FM 2100 in eastern Harris County. Baytown officers asked for assistance from the HCSO after Fiala fought with loss prevention officers at a local business and ran from them.

Baytown officers located Fiala and attempted to stop her. She drove west on Interstate 10 until reaching the 610 Loop and then drove north to US 59 with deputies and officers still in pursuit.

Once reaching the city of Humble, local police tried to use a spike strips to try to get her to stop but were unsuccessful. She then entered southern Montgomery County, where Montgomery County Sheriff’s and Houston Police also joined in the chase. Fiala tried to exit the freeway at Northpark Drive and drove over the median and turned east bound on to Knox Street. She lost control of her vehicle and struck a mailbox and slid into a ditch. Fiala fled from the car and was running towards a wooded area. She was ordered by an HCSO deputy to stop, but did not comply and was tasered by that deputy. She did not sustain any injuries and was released by EMS to Baytown Police Department where she faces charges of Robbery and Felony Evading.

Comments:
Michelle or Michael? No wonder she was running from the law. She didn't want to be seen without her makeup.
