FRIENDSWOOD - A traffic violation led to the arrest of a San Antonio man on an outstanding burglary warrant.

Justin Pastrano, 19, is being held at the Friendswood municipal jail on no bond pending transfer to the Galveston County Jail.

Pastrano, who gave police a local Seabrook address, was stopped for a traffic violation in the 2000 block of S. Friendswood Drive. A routine check through the Texas Crime Information Center revealed a Burglary of a Habitation warrant out of Medina County.

A representative of the Medina County Sheriff's Office in Hondo advised that the warrant stems from a 2008 residential burglary where Pastrano broke into a house and stole more than 300 items; mostly jewelry and electronics.

Pastrano was working a construction job in Polly Ranch subdivision. Police officials expressed concern that the felony fugitive was working in proximity to homes in Friendswood. Local businesses that hire contractors are urged to research safeguards to reduce risks to public safety and property.
