SANTA FE, Texas - Shortly after one o'clock this morning, Santa Fe police officers responded to a 911 call of an assault in the 11000 block of SH 6.

He provided the trio with a small amount of gasoline, enough to get them to a nearby gas station. He also offered them a few dollars to get some gas when they got there.
Kessler said when he produced the money, about $47.00, of of the men attacked him with a metal flashlight knocking him to the ground. He was then either punched or kicked and the money was forcefully taken from him. The three then fled west on HWY 6. It was later determined the crime actually occurred in the City of Hitchcock, so Hitchcock police took over the investigation.
