SARGENT - Mary Katherine "Cathie" Grigsby was on a trip with her church the weekend her husband was killed, but that hasn't kept Matagorda County authorities from charging her with what they believe was "murder for hire."

Police said Jack Grigsby, 72, was found by Cathie Grigsby, 59, inside his Old Caney Road home about 9 p.m. May 17. The couple was estranged, and there was no sign of forced entry, Matagorda County Sheriff's Sgt. Charlotte Brown has said.
