Child Support Evader Dean Greer
Attorney General Greg Abbott needs your help locating Child Support Evader Dean Greer, who last month was named to the Child Support Division's latest Top Ten List of Texas' Most Wanted Child Support Evaders. Greer owes $39,962 for the care of a daughter from Beaumont.
In 1990, Greer was ordered to make child support payments of $120 per month for the care and support of one child. He did not follow the order. An arrest warrant was issued after Greer failed to appear at a September 2007 enforcement hearing. Greer has not made a child support payment in more than seven years. By refusing to provide the financial resources his daughter needs, Greer has turned his back on her and violated the law. A combination of missed payments and legally mandated interest that accrues on unpaid child support adds up to more than $39,000 Greer now owes.
Greer's last known address is Nacogdoches, and he may be working for cash to avoid garnishment of wages to pay child support.
Greer and the other parents on the Child Support Division's latest top ten list owe a combined $521,000 in overdue child support. They are eluding authorities to avoid arrest for failing to pay their court-ordered child support. In addition to Greer, the following parents from the list are still at large:
Jimmie McCullough owes $133,866 for two children in Fayetteville. Last known address: Texarkana
Michelle Falco owes $48,413 for two children in Richardson. Last known address: Algonquin, IL
David Long owes $32,370 for one child in Mesquite. Last known address: Gardena, CA
Jack Neal owes $28,455 for three children in Daisetta. Last known address: Daisetta
James Hoffmeister owes $22,566 for one child in Midland. Last known address: Coppell

Texas law requires the Office of the Attorney General to publicly identify certain parents who are delinquent in the payment of child support. The child support evaders on the Top Ten List were selected because they have the ability to take responsibility for their children but refuse to do so. Incarceration is the only option for parents who repeatedly ignore court orders requiring them to pay child support. The Office of the Attorney General helps parents who lack the ability to pay child support by referring them to job training and employment services.
For a parent to be named a Most Wanted Child Support Evader, court-ordered delinquent support must exceed $5,000 and an arrest warrant must have been issued. The parent's location must be unknown, and the parent must not have made any child support payments in the last six months. The parent must not be involved in bankruptcy proceedings or receiving welfare benefits. The parent with custody of the children must sign a confidentiality waiver before the evader can be added to the list.
The Attorney General's Child Support Division is directed by state and federal law to help collect child support for Texas families. The division handles more than one million cases and collected $2.6 billion in child support the fiscal year that ended Aug 31. More than $13 billion in child support has been collected during the Abbott administration.
