During the past 8 months the Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force which is a Houston HIDTA Initiative (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) completed a narcotic investigation targeting a family that were organized cocaine traffickers operating from a residence in Richmond, Texas. The family members range from the grandmother to the grandson who is 13 years of age.
On Friday, April 24, 2009, Agents of the Fort Bend County Narcotics armed with a Search Warrant utilized the Fort Bend County Special Operation Unit (S.O.U.) to serve the search warrant at the address of 115 Douglas Street, Richmond, Texas. Subsequently, 4 adults were arrested on drug charges and one juvenile was referred to the Juvenile Division of the District Attorney's Office and the Children's Protection Agency.
Those arrested were Rosie Meza, her children Rene and Leticia Meza and Rene's wife, Jennifer Gonzales-Meza.
The evidence obtained by the Fort Bend County Task Force indicates the financial backer and source of the illegal drugs was identified as Rene Chon Meza w/m Dob: 8-6-75. Rene Meza was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver and Child Endangerment. The "order taker of the illegal drugs" was identified as Rosie Meza, w/f d.o.b. 01-15-1949. Rosie Meza was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver and Child Endangerment. The "packagers and distributors of the illegal drugs" were identified as Leticia Marie Meza w/f d.o.b. 08-01-1982 and Jennifer Renee Gonzales-Meza w/f d.o.b. 08-24-1987. Leticia and Jennifer were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver. Jennifer Gonzales-Meza was booked on an additional charge of Child Endangerment. The juvenile was referred to the Juvenile Division of the District Attorney's Office as well as the Children's Protection Agency. The offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver is a 1st. Degree Felony, while Child Endangerment is a State Jail Felony. All suspects were placed into the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office Detention Facility.
The bonds were set by the Honorable Judge Sears for the following amounts; the bond for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver charged on all suspects was set at $75,000.00. The charge for the offense of Child Endangerment on all suspects was set at $15,000.00.
