CONROE- It took jurors less than two hours on Wednesday to convict 38-year-old Nikita Van Goffney of possession with intent to manufacture/deliver a controlled substance and unlawful possession of firearm by felon, stemming from a 2008 arrest by Conroe Police narcotics officers. Goffney's parole was also revoked on a prior charge.

On Thursday, jurors took considerably longer on Thursday to return a sentence, than they had to convict the career criminal. Conroe Police Sgt. Bob Berry confirmed Goffney was sentenced to 99 years in prison per charge.

Goffney has a lengthy criminal history in Montgomery County. Public Data shows his prior convictions include unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, unlawful carrying of a weapon, failure to identify fugitive from justice, driving while license suspended, driving while license invalid with previous conviction, fictitious inspection sticker, possession of marijuana, and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

Goffney also had several arrests with charges later dismissed for unknown reasons. Among the dismissed charges were assault, evading, resisting arrest, and possession of dangerous drug,
