A three-vehicle crash on Hwy 105 near Blake Road on Thursday evening injured five people and tied up traffic for hours.

According to Conroe Police Officer McCrary, an eastbound Mitsubishi Eclipse had a blowout and struck the driver side of an eastbound Acura sedan, causing the driver to lose control and go into the center lane where it struck a 2000 Ford Taurus head-on.

McCrary said the speed limit on that stretch of road is 60 miles per hour.

The Eclipse had minor damage, with two occupants transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. One occupant of the Acura and two in the Ford Taurus were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston with serious injuries.

The occupants of the Taurus were a mother and her 14-year-old daughter. The mother was the most seriously injured of all five victims. An air ambulance was requested and then disregarded.

No names were available, but McCrary said all involved were area residents.

Public Data shows the Ford Taurus is registered to a Panorama Village resident, and the Mitsubishi Eclipse is registered to a Deer Park resident. No information was available about the Acura's registration.
