A single-vehicle crash near the Montgomery and Walker County lines claimed two lives around 3:15am Wednesday.

A report by the Texas Department of Public Safety stated that a 1995 Saturn coup was eastbound on FM 1375 at an unsafe speed when it veered off of the roadway and struck several trees.

Michael White and Christopher Chatham, both 22-year-old Huntsville residents, were pronounced dead on the scene.

The North Montgomery County Fire Department responded.

The report did not state whether drugs or alcohol were suspected factors. The crash is under investigation by DPS.
