The deadline to register to vote in the general election on November 3, 2009, is Monday, October 5, 2009.

Chambers County residents may register to vote at the Tax Office in Anahuac, located at 405 S. Main St; the Courthouse Annex Tax Office in Mont Belvieu, located at 10616 Eagle Drive; or the East Chambers Annex Tax Office, located at 211 Broadway, Winnie, Texas.

An online application may be obtained from the Secretary of State website, www.sos.state.tx.us this application must be filled out completely, signed and mailed to the Tax Office at P.O. Box 519, Anahuac, TX 77514, on or before October 5, 2009, to be eligible to vote on November 3.

Office hours for the Anahuac and Mont Belvieu Chambers County Tax Assessor office are Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Office hours for the Winnie office are Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am to12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. See page 3 for early voting locations and times.
