FRIENDSWOOD - A League City's man's luck ran out when he tried to evade a DPS trooper October 15 at approximately 12:20 p.m.

Daniel Nuno, 18, was fleeing on a motorcycle northbound on W. Bay Area Blvd. when he came upon Friendswood Police working a motor vehicle crash in the 3200 block of FM 528. Emergency fire and EMS vehicles were in the roadway, causing Nuno to attempt to flee around the scene via a sidewalk. As he turned and hesitated for a moment, he was physically tackled by an officer on foot at the scene.

Nuno and the officer fell to the ground. Neither Nuno nor the officer was injured.

Nuno was found to have outstanding municipal warrants through League City. His criminal history includes narcotics, family violence and burglary charges. In fact, Nuno was arrested in July by Friendswood Police for Burglary and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Nuno is out on bond, pending the disposition of those cases. Today, the DPS trooper was originally attempting to stop Nuno for a speeding violation.

He is being held at the Friendswood municipal jail, pending transfer to the Galveston County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
