BACLIFF - Galveston County Sheriff's Captain Barry Cook says deputies arrested two men Friday after witnessing them throw a rape victim from their moving truck while being pursued by the deputies.

A deputy on patrol near midnight saw the silver truck near Spillway Park traveling at a high rate of speed and gave chase.

Near Avenue D and 27th Streets, as deputy Seth Rowland approach the truck, it's passenger door opened and the woman was pushed out.

Rowland reported he stopped to insure the 24-year old woman was okay then continued his pursuit of the truck, stopping it a short distance later.

The occupants, Humberto Garcia, 28, of Bacliff, and Jose Luis Robles Lozado, 29, of Dickinson, were both charged with sexual assault and were being held in Galveston County Jail in lieu of $70,000 bail each.

The woman was taken by investigators to Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston for treatment and examination for evidence of rape.
