OILTON - A Creek County sheriff's deputy was shot Tuesday night by a man who had been threatening to kill himself, Sheriff Steve Toliver said.
Sgt. Dusty Thomas was shot in the shoulder by a shotgun blast in Oilton and was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa for treatment, the sheriff said. The extent of his injuries was not immediately clear, but Toliver said they were not life-threatening and that Thomas had been wearing a bullet-proof vest.
